Tangerine Tango
Today was the launch of the Marni Collection at H&M! And of course I was there. I am so happy this collaboration is taking place. This will not only be profitable for both sides but will create brand exposure for Marni and brand equity for H&M, everybody wins. I am not one to be at the gates when an H&M designer collaboration takes place, but I always try to get at least something. And now back to the topic!!!... Tangerine Tango
Pantone named tangerine the color of 2012, so get ready to see this bright hue everywhere this spring. Tangerine is a highly-saturated orange with a reddish undertone, which makes it a flattering shade on most skin tones. Once the warm weather hits, try wearing a bold dress, top or bikini in this shade. However, if you’re feeling a little color shy, start small by rocking a tangerine mani or accessory.

As designers have showcased their spring lines, tangerine has been seen on every runway imaginable. From Lela Rose to Charlotte Ronson, the runways have moved away from neutrals to this bright newcomer for spring.
I’ve never worn anything tangerine or even remotely similar to it before, so I’m going to ease myself into this trend. For those who, like me, would never even look at something this color, check out these tips for trying out tangerine a little bit at a time.
The easiest way to branch out into the world of tangerine is to start by incorporating the color into your accessories.

Whether it is a pair of sandals or flats, a purse, or something as simple as a necklace, this is a great way to try out the color without being too overwhelmed. Aldo has a lot of sandals this season that fall into this color trend, like the Brendle Sandal.
Even though the runways featured tangerine dresses, I’d advise to stay away from dresses in tangerine at first. While you’re adjusting to this bright color, opt for a top or a skirt instead of a full dress. Forever 21’s Belted Wrap Skirt can be paired with a neutral top and sandals for a cute spring look.
If you are brave enough to jump right into this trend by wearing a dress, choose a subdued hue of the color, and only choose materials that are light. Urban Outfitter’s has plenty of great dresses that fit the tangerine trend like the Cheap Monday Yvonne Dress and the Pins and Needle Chiffon Pleated-Trim Dress.
Will you be trying out tangerine this spring?
