Circle Circle Dot Dot Trend

Just when you thought winter was never-ending, spring is on the horizon and we couldn’t be more excited for the rising temperatures and hemlines. The added sunshine means toying with this season’s most playful trends: polka dots, bold brights, prim pastels and sheer anything.

Today on spot: Polka Dots

Polka dots are “on-point” for spring, and everyone from Minnie Mouse to Stella McCartney agrees! You can keep a polka dot top simple with a solid skirt, or pump it up by mixing your dots with stripes in the same color scheme. Polka what? Polka yes!
From funky fingernails to fluttering skirts to girly blouses, dresses and beyond, the retro polka dot has made a mega comeback for the spring 2012 season. Polka dots large and small were spotted all over the spring 2012 catwalk, giving you yet another reason to re-live your childhood past (which I hope was as saturated in polka dots as mine was).

You can keep things subtle with a polka dotted clutch or shoe (love it in a flat or pump) or go a bolder route with a full-on polka dotted frock, cardigan or even pant. And, of course, you can't go wrong with a polka dot bikini, perfect for vacation wear or for the upcoming summer season.
Of course, you can apply multiple trends at the same time. For example, pastels are super in this season, so try a polka dotted something in a pretty, soft pastel.
Sick of wearing florals? Try polka dots instead. This spring, black on white will be one of the most popular color combos, as well as pastel and jewel tones. When wearing polka dots keep in mind your height; if you have a small frame try to stick with small polka dots. If you’re tall (lucky you!) you can easily pull off both small and big prints.
