AkzoNobel ColourFutures declares Terra Cotta Rose the International color of 2012 There are many color experts in the marketplace who conduct a thourough analysis of trends and predict which colors will be hot during any given year. Every year fashion magazines, news outlets and bloggers pick up on the “color of the year” as declared by global color experts. While we talked about Pantone’s color of the year,   Tangerine Tango  for 2012 in December, AkzoNobel has released their color for 2012, which happens to be Terra Cotta Rose. AkzoNobel was the first company to begin declaring a “Color of The Year” back in 2003 when the company put together ColourFutures and predicted the “IT” color for 2004. For 2012, AkzoNobel has declared Terra Cotta Rose the color of 2012, which is a warm reddish-pink hue. While AkzoNobel’s colors tend to be found in paints and fabrications used in interior design, the spaces we live in are also a reflection of who we are and our lifest

What I'm wearing: Dress: H&M, Tights: Primark, Shoes: Focus, Scarf: Primark, Belt: Temptation Boutique, Accessories: Temptation Boutique We're in love with this season's infatuation with '50s chic in the way of pencil skirts, sheath dresses, and, most recently spotted on celebs, houndstooth prints. The traditional check pattern, which dates all the way back to the 1800s, was recently spotted on Jayma Mays, Gwyneth Paltrow , and  Kim Kardashian , all showing fresh variations on how you can wear the trend this Fall. Jayma recently worked it in a casual ensemble pairing a  Rachel Zoe houndstooth blazer with a cute  ASOS  horse-print sweater, fitted Bec + Bridge skirt, and pumps — perfect for a day at the office. Gwyneth provided inspiration for a high-contrast polished look wearing a  Stella McCartney  coat with red peep-toe booties. We love how the coat easily doubles as a jacket and dress. For a more downtown cool aesthetic, just look to Kim's black

Yellow Fever

Citrus yellow is certainly a standout color, so wearing it from top to bottom can be too much for some.  Alternatively, it has been used as a barely there accent or a shock of color that becomes the focus. Notice how the yellow takes on different qualities according to how it’s combined. Light, airy, citrus yellow that symbolises a freer spirit, sense of fun and positive energy. Enhancing the mood of hope and optimism, it conveys a feeling of fizzy sherbet, new growth, relaxed fun and the goodness and vitality of sunshine. Yellow in colour psychology is often associated with: Warmth and sunshine Refreshing, cheering, and uplifting Promote communication and learning Combat fatigue and depression Engendering feelings of well-being and positive thoughts Enhance relaxation and minimize stress and anxiety

Stripes trend

Spring 2012 will show its colors in the form of stripes. Stripes of all thicknesses, materials, and shapes. Though linear lines paired with bold colors were the backbone of stripes for Spring, it seems slightly more refined colors are going to be mega also. In a singular top or dress designed for the next months, an competitive game of Twister takes place and the players are heather grey, ruby red, sharp ivory, and coal black. These colors are layered upon each other in an intimate unbalanced nature and turn an otherwise ordinary piece… extraordinary. The conception that horizontal stripes make the wearer appear larger is only the case when worn incorrectly. With stripes it is a great idea to layer with complimentary colors, and make a point to highlight the assets and diminish draw attention away from problem areas. To do this, accessorize your look with a vest that is a bold color found in the menage of stripes. Another method is to grab a
